As we reflect on the past year, it is evident that the spirit of community and compassion thrives through our collective efforts at Equipping Neighbors in Our Community (ENOC). We are delighted to share with you the highlights of our endeavors in 2023, which have only been made possible through your continued support.
1. Partnered with Solis Ministry: Two Lives Transformed
In partnership with Solis Ministry, ENOC helped to achieve something truly remarkable. We gave away two vehicles to community members in need. These acts of kindness have transformed lives and brought hope to our neighbors.
2. Asset Mapping: Strengthening our Community
Our Asset Mapping project has been instrumental in identifying resources within our community. By the end of this year, we are wrapping up this initiative, which will serve as a vital tool for future programs and projects.
3. Launch of Our Website: A Digital Presence
ENOC expanded its reach by launching our website, www.dinuba-enoc.org. This digital platform allows us to connect with the community, share updates, and promote our mission more effectively.
4. Potential Site for ENOC
We have made significant progress in identifying a potential site for ENOC, which will serve as a hub for our community programs. Stay tuned for exciting updates on this front.
5. Teacher Appreciation Meal: Honoring Educators
ENOC's commitment to our educators was exemplified through an end-of-the-year Teacher Appreciation meal. High school students proudly served their teachers lunch, acknowledging the valuable role they play in shaping our community's future.
6. School Supply Giveaways: Empowering Our Youth
ENOC continued to empower our youth by giving away 200 bags of school supplies to children in need. We also encouraged our community members to "stuff the bus" with school supplies, ensuring all children have the tools they need to succeed.
7. Workforce Development Program: Building Skills
ENOC initiated a workforce development program, equipping community members with the skills and knowledge they need to secure better job opportunities. This program aligns with our mission to uplift and empower individuals.
8. Notorious Pig BBQ: A Social Enterprise with a Purpose
We are excited to introduce "Notorious Pig BBQ," a pop-up social enterprise that not only serves delicious food but also teaches high school students essential job skills. These students have learned about safe food handling and practices and earned their very first paycheck through this initiative.
As we look back on a year filled with growth and achievements, we are reminded that our mission to support and empower our community is an ongoing journey.
